Bread of Life, urban oil painting

I spent alot of time refining this painting and could have spent alot more. My goal has been to get more impressionistic in style ,but this image had so much detail I felt that it needed to be tightened up to make sense.
This is a view from the Pioneer Square district in the city of Seattle. I took alot of pictures after going over for City Team last week. 12.5 x 9 oil on masonite panel, SOLD

Demo painting, watercolor, stillife, floral

Saturday at the studio I met Diana, who came in for private lessons in watercolor painting. It was a wonderfully peaceful day as we listened to great music and painted togeather. This is the demo painting I did. Completed in about 20 min it was an excercise in a more impressionistic style of watercolor.
For those of you who are local, Leigh's studio is open Saturdays from 10:oo am till 5:00 pm. One or the other of us will be there or most times both of us and you can come in and visit or use the studio for painting or print making, .... or get private lessons. Email me at for further info or to purchase any artwork.

There will be an opening reception Fri , May 4th at 6:00pm. So come have a cup of coffee and check out the new work, I would love to meet you!

McDonell House#3, oil , building , exterior

Same house , different view. I think I have exhausted my interest in this house for now. I took my guitar to Seattle on Tuesday to participate in " City Team" a cool outreach to the homeless in Seattle. They put on a service and cook and serve a meal to whoever shows up. I think there was about 75 people. It's exciting to see the amazing work God is doing in the lifes of these folks ,who are in such difficult circumstances. I took alot of pictures in the city so guess I'll work off those for awhile. 10x8 in., oil on masonite panel, $120.00 . email me for purchase
