"Green Pastures" oil landscape painting with cows

I have one more Ohio painting to post and then I'm done with this series......pretty sure.......Cows are just too much fun to paint! These are Holsteins.....ready for milking!...hanging out in the green pastures of southwest Ohio. The challenge was adding interest in the foreground grass by varying color, texture and brush stroke.

I love how you posted your sketch because it just showcases your talent transforming a drab B&W image to a vibrant and alive gem. I love how the background cow seems to be envying the foreground cow's moneymaker. Then of course I tend to read too much into things sometimes. ;o)

Very nice pastoral painting! I especially like the way you laid in the different greens.

I never thought too much about the complement of the green grass and red barn until I saw your painting and it really pops, great work!
