"The Hedges Vinyard" plein air, landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"The Hedges Vinyard"  10x12 oil on panel  $600

After visiting a few vineyards in Walla Walla we went to Benton City about an hour away and stopped to paint at a few more. This is the hedges winery and vineyards which features a beautiful tasting room and stunning grounds.

On another note, I will be participating in the Unity show in Seattle. Here is info from the website and one of the paintings I have submitted. 50% of sales will go to Faceing Homelessness

Call for Rest  20x20 oil on panel

THE EVENT:Unity at the Bemis is a juried and curated charitable art show running Aug 4-6th at The Bemis Building in SoDo, less than 2 blocks from The Seattle Art Fair at CenturyLink Field. The goal of this community-centric art show is to raise at least $25,000 to support local homelessness through the work of Facing Homelessness - a direct-action non-profit that works closely with homeless citizens. The show will feature between 40-50 Northwest artists, with affordable art up for sale throughout the 3-day event.

Rob... I'm enjoying the sensitive composition of 'Call for Rest'. The mostly blue tones of the color palette with that one strike of reddish hues pulls the eye to the walker. I looked at this piece for several minutes before I saw the homeless man lost in the plastic garbage sacks. This selective treatment is so reflective of how we don't see the thousands of people, many who are children, who have no place to go. In terms of statement this piece is both subtle and loud. Very nice.

Thanks Darrell, I appreciate your comment. I hope you have a chance to get to the Bemis show...should be a good one for a good cause.
