"Homestead" landscape, oil painting

This house is in Port Orchard. I used a warm pallet and added lights in the windows to give it an inviting mood. You, the viewer get to write the story behind the painting.....

    Robin, what a warm friendly painting. The viewer wants to go inside and get comfortable in the cozy house.

    Is this from a photo or plein air?

    I did this one from a photo that looks nothing like the painting. It might be interesting to see what I use as reference on some paintings.

    When I am not able to do a painting entirely on site, I use a combination of on site sketches,photos and notes.
