Back to my Uganda images.......This Muslim girl glanced back just as I clicked the shutter....We were driving through the outskirts of Kampala , on our way to the airport guest house....I think the image is a compelling portrait into the life of a typical Ugandan citizen.

Right now I am fascinated with painting and drawing on this brown paper!.....sorry about the glare.........=/..
Oil and graphite on brown paper......approx. 22x30 sold
LOVING the sketch/paint thing you have going here!
ReplyDeleteYou're really onto something here, Robin. I think the vivid paint looks so striking against the earthy looking brown paper. The contrast is lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, Thanks, I guess I will keep going and see where this idea leads.
ReplyDeleteThank you Silvi! I think I need to explore some different papers, but will continue to go with this technique and just have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin,
ReplyDeleteI also love the combined mediums.
It's very rich and so telling of the moment you saw her.
It's really a striking work and idea.

Thank you Vikki!!....No time to comment on everyones blog right now ...It's sooo frustrating!!!...I'll talk to you soon....
ReplyDeleteI think there is something very rich in the brown paper when used as a support... It makes me feel that we all have something in common. I guess because it is so common to us all??? I have only used the brown paper once to do some painting/drawing on. It sold to the first person who saw it...
ReplyDeleteI love this drawing and painting you've done. Your drawing skills are remarkable. I love your sketches.
Nancy, thank you for your kind words.
