"Last Load" oil landscape

I'm a sucker for old abandoned trucks.....what can I say?......This was a beauty.....couldn't pass it up.........oil on stretched canvas...18x14 $385.00 Sold

  5. My 84 year old neighbor has a 1950 something truck and '50's cadillac' that has been sitting in her yard since her husband died in the early seventies. 'They are where he left them' she tells me.
    I'm going to see if I can't get some good photos for you.

    Fantastic, Robin! It looks like you put as much effort into the grasses as to the truck, but the truck stays the focal point.

    Did you know that Mike B. and David Lobenberg also posted truck paintings? Is it a coincidence?

  13. Hi Silvina! I do have a bit more time into this painting....The light coming through the grasses was very attractive to me...but as you say, the truck as the focal point needed more power.....I achieved this in part by drawing from a workshop by Gamblin on the difference between modern and classic colors, using the more modern Thalo (which I never use) to draw out the glow of the blue shadow of the truck.....=]
