I love my little town of Poulsbo. Especially quiet mornings down by the marina. Poulsbo has a Norwegian heritage and the city has made an effort to keep that "flavor" throughout the town. There is a small but energetic business community with galleries, shops of all sorts, the famous Sluys bakery that made "Poulsbo" bread common in most grocery stores and, of course, The Sons of Norway Hall where one can sample lutefisk during Viking Fest.

The marina still has fishing boats that come and sell salmon in season. They often moor the boats by the seawall at the mouth of the harbor.

Beautiful, Robin!
Many old towns by the sea just drip with charm and character, and your painting shows it well. I like the panoramic format that so clearly places the harbor deep in the "fiords" of northern Washington. Beautiful.
Hello!nice painting!
Thanks Don!
And Thanks Don!!...=] We both strive to capture the beauty we see around us.
Welcome XiuCheng Che! Looking at your blog, I can see why you are an award winning water-colorist!
Thank you for the kind comment.
The cropped image of the boat in the first pic is certainly appealing enough, but extending the painting to include the wharf and background mist shrouded trees evokes a whole new range of emotions. Very well, done, Robin.
Thank you James!
Thank you James!
I have "sampled" lutefisk. I can say, as a norwegian, it is sort of depressing to think that lutefisk is as good as it gets.
