"Eglon Beach" plein air landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"Eglon Beach" 6x8 oil on panel     Sold

I've mentioned this a few times before but I have learned to love using the driftwood on the beaches of the Pacific Northwest to help design compositions and to lead the viewer into the painting. Here is another one from Eglon, a favorite painting spot where I have been doing a lot of smaller studies for larger studio paintings.

"Point Wilson" plein air landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"Point Wilson"  6x8 oil on panel , plein air

Recently I got away to paint outside.  Setting up in this location at Fort Worden Park in Port Townsend affords two nice views without having to move my easel. Point Wilson in one direction and the Light House in the other direction. There is still mostly wintery gray days but spring is on the way!

This painting has been juried into the Magnuson Park Gallery's Plein Air Views of Washington Exhibition.

"Rest" original landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"Rest" 18x24 oil framed     Sold

I loved the simple shapes and the restful feeling this scene of Liberty Bay inspired in me when I stopped one foggy morning and snapped a few pictures.

I framed and brought this painting along with a few others to the J Go Gallery (formerly the Roby King Gallery) in Winslow on Saturday for the "Tax Free" group show in May. The "Tax Free" show is an annual tradition started by Andrea and Wes of the Roby King for many years and it looks like Jude Grenney the new owner of the J Go Gallery will continue.

Hope you get a chance to stop by the gallery for First Friday Artwalk in Winslow, May 5th from 5-8pm! The gallery artists will be exhibiting their recent work and you will get a "Tax Break" on any purchases!

Hope to see you there!
