"Front Street" urban oil painting by Robin Weiss

"Front Street"   24x20 oil on linen panel  SOLD

The last in my "Smoked" series, this view of my hometown, Poulsbo Washington, has been hanging in a show of recent work at the Poulsbohemian coffee shop in downtown Poulsbo. Looks like the show will hang for another month and be up through November of 2020.  There will be some changes in the artwork including this piece, which I have entered into the Plein Air Washington Artists Winter Show coming up in December 2020. I will be adding some recent paintings and moving others around so if you are in the area and are looking for original, local artwork for your home stop by the Poulsbohemian. (If you get there early you may even run into me working on my next blogpost!  =]

From there walk down to the Front Street Gallery to view more original artworkwork by local artists.

"Farm Stand Field" plein air landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"Farm Stand Field" 12x16 oil on linen panel  SOLD

Farm Stand Field in progress
We stopped in Skagit on our way down from Mount Baker to visit old painting buddy, Mark Bistranin. Mark co-ownes and operates the Seaside Gallery in LaConnor, WA . We decided to do a little painting and pulled into a parking lot just outside town that was selling fresh flowers and produce. This family farm had a beautiful field in the back with some flowers still blooming late in the season. A perfect place to do an afternoon painting. As you can see here the smoke was still in the air. I think it really helped to mute and soften this work to its benefit.

"Shuksan Through the Haze" plein air landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"Shuksan through the Haze" 8x6 oil  SOLD

Another view I have painted many times!  I just can't help myself when I am standing at this spot in person! You would too!!  Come to Washington and see for yourself!

I have to say at this point, I am so proud of my son Maury. He has overcome some real struggles in his life but has the best attitude through it all.  He attended the Art institute of Seattle for game design when it was a fairly new program. It was a very intense instruction which he accomplished in three years by attending without the breaks. This was after working with me for a year after high school. He quickly realized that he wanted do something that he enjoyed for a living and really worked hard to achieve that. After gaining his degree he landed a great job and by consistent effort has been promoted to leadership positions in his workplace.

Maury still loves to draw and paint like he did growing up and we have traveled to many locations around the country to paint together.  Check out his website HERE
