Christmas Poinsettia 2 : dailly painting

I broke one of the stems off my poinsettia while I was trying to water it.. well, trying to get the wrap off the pot so I could water it. Thanks Lori for the idea of just putting a hole in the paper... duh.. I wish I would have checked my comments first. Anyhow I stuck it in my favorite blue vase and it looked pretty good so... another painting. One of these days I'm going to post all the paintings I have done with this vase in them, about five or six now. SOLD

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Poinsettia: dailly painting

Got the most beautiful poinsettia. couldn't help but paint it , before all the leaves fall off. I have terrible effects on these plants. as soon as they enter my house, they start looking like they are receiving chemo treatments. Doesn't matter where I put them, or what I do, pretty soon ,just a stick and a pot.

Porch Cat, daily painting

I tryed to add a cat to this porch painting. I don't know if it works very well. The cat kinda looks like an afterthought idea, which it was.

Indian Ponies

This past weekend, Fri, Sat and Sunday we were in White Swan WA. working on the Yakima Indian Reservation. Rising Light Ministry, headed by Briggs Macon is building a house for a Native American family whose house burned down five years ago. Since loosing their home they have been living in a haybale house with limited facilities. This is a view from the reservation done last summer.

Alder tree study: daily painting

Alder trees grow like weeds here in the Northwest. They grow best in wet areas and have bark similar to birch. This is a watercolor study of one.

Moonlight Snow: daily painting, winter landscape

I almost tossed this painting and then I added the falling snow and it somehow pulled it togeather for me, but I have been staring at it for too long. I would love a critique from some kind soul. SOLD

Shadow Fire: daily painting, winter landscape

Well the snow is gone. All melted away. It stayed longer than usual here in the Pacific Northwest and its a good thing. I almost ran off the road a few times looking at scenes I couldn't take my eyes off of. So I will work from some pictures for now... Never without my handy digital.SOLD

Lincoln Rd Farm: daily painting, winter landscape

You drive by a place everyday and hardly notice its there. Then it snows and the stage is set and the scene is spectacular. All you can do is attempt to render the fleeting beauty of the moment, like a quick praise to God.

Track Red:daily painting,abstract

Another installment of the "Outside the Box" series. Gotta do something with that leftover paint. Actually I think there is a paradigm shift happening in my artistic thought processes........or not. I don't know, I'm just thinking alot more about abstract design.
