November snow: daily painting,winter landscape

Well , delay the portland photo paintings. A huge ice and snow storm has hit the Seattle and surrounding areas, making for horrific driving and working conditions, but awsome painting opportunities. In watercolor its nice to have large white forms and space to work with, and snow affords those beautiful and dramatic compositions. SOLD

Two Crows

Portland was great. The Portland art museum has an impressive collection. Plus I spent alot of time going through the galleries, drinking coffee and taking pictures. I plan on working from my photographs, especially the rainy train yard shots. Also got to spend some quality time with my mom.
These two crows are waiting to see if I'm going to throw another french fry out the window. Its a grocery store parking lot in Purdy WA.

Above is Sundays demo painting. The finished one came out blurry so this is the almost finished painting. sold

Arts in The Woods

Heres the set up for Arts in The Woods. What a blast . Had a good day of fellowship with good artist friends, drank alot of coffee, and met alot of great folks. A storm blew in with alot of rain but we still had a pretty good turn out. I was supposed to be demonstrating but all I got accomplished was this mediocre watercolor sketch of a pomegranate above.

Don"t Look Back

November has hit the Pacific Northwest. Took a picture while I was driving today, and then did a sketch. It rained all day. Miserable to work in, but awsome for cool atmosphere, and vague misty shapes looming out of the soupy sludge.
