We stopped in Skagit on our way down from Mount Baker to visit old painting buddy,
Mark Bistranin. Mark co-ownes and operates the Seaside Gallery in LaConnor, WA . We decided to do a little painting and pulled into a parking lot just outside town that was selling fresh flowers and produce. This family farm had a beautiful field in the back with some flowers still blooming late in the season. A perfect place to do an afternoon painting. As you can see here the smoke was still in the air. I think it really helped to mute and soften this work to its benefit.
