"Obstruction Pass" Obstruction Pass State Park, plein air, oil , landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"Obstruction Pass" 12x9 oil on panel     Sold

Another great state park on Orcas Island is Obstruction Pass State Park. You don't get the feeling there is much to it after the long gravel road to the unassuming parking lot. The trail in doesn't offer much either. It's not until you get to the end of the trail and see the spectacular views of the straits that the wow factor hits!
Well, check out this short video;

Obstruction Pass in progress

I love a lead in to my compositions and always try and look for what is available, whether it is a stream, road, trail or line of driftwood. Look for something that will take the eye deeper into the scene..

Love the little video views of your plain air painting sites. Your paintings get better all the time. Just beautiful Robin.

Yes I agree, the lead in video was a treat along with the block in photo and site chosen. Just great. What a pretty spot indeed.
