Coffee Pot and Blue Bowl / still life oil painting
I had a request for another coffee pot painting so I got kinda carried away with this still life today. I worked on it for about ten hours. ( including breaks ) Back to my alley houses tomorrow. SOLD
Thanks guys! I wish I could say this is my studio, but it belongs to good friends, Jim and Leigh Metteer
Jim builds and restores six meter sailing boats in his shop next door.
Leigh is a painter/ printmaker who will have her web page up soon. I couldn't talk her into blogger.
They graciously allow me a corner to work on Saturdays. I also teach workshops in watercolor tecknique there occasionally. Super folks. I owe alot of thanks for the progress I have been making lately to thier support and encouragement.
Hi Robin - I was hoping to thank you for your nice comments on my blog recently... glad to stop by here and see this gorgeous painting in progress. If you are just beginning to work with oils more, it does not look like you are having any difficulty. Love the alleyways too. Beautiful work.
Robin... In addition to all the positive comments.. you have a really cool personal style to the way you render subjects - still life or landscape. I'm happy for you that you have an appropiate place to create. More than appropriate! Excellent sir!
Mucho gracias WK. I'm still trying to achieve my own distinctive style. I'm not sure if that is somthing you can work to get or just happens in time. I know you have your own distinctive style, and Ron does, and others. I don't know if I'm there yet.
I would like a living space that looks like your studio! I left a comment on your King Street Statiion painting, but don't know if you will notice it with all the spam you've got on that post. Your paintings are among my favorites of the dailypainters.
Thanks for your kind comments Anna Maria. So sorry about the spam! I try to keep up on it, guess I'll have to go back to secure comments. Thanks for letting me know and thanks for visiting.
Thanks Michele for checking in. I spent the weekend at the studio painting. Not much to show for it but I'll post my new painting. Theres lots of stuff going on there like lecture series, print making classes, hopefully the life drawing will be starting up again soon, so its a blast!

Wow!! Is that your studio? It's incredible.
Nice paintings too!
Alleyways are one of my favourite things to paint....gotta get out and do more of them.
Yours are great!
Beautiful painting, Robin, now give us the low down on the building.

Hey Matt, ya its a great space, and Leigh and Jim are talented and gracious friends. I'm blessed to know them and share a part of Knowles Studio.
Thanks!
