The Flower Vendor, Pike Street Market, I.P.

I worked all day, about 8 hours straight through on this painting today and it is almost finished. I am happy with the whole painting except the face of the vendor which is the focal point and key to the entire piece. hopefully I can put the spark of life into this painting that will make it exceptional.....stay tuned

I just read the previous post about your mom getting hit by a car. I'm so sorry. Is she OK?

So, when you say she made a new friend... do you mean she befriended the person who hit her?! We don't act that way in L.A. : D

This is a very interesting and complex painting. Are you painting it in plein air?

I just looked at the painting more carefully. I don't know where I got the idea it was plein air. psh. sorry.

The flowers are gorgeous! You are doing a terrific job on the woman's face AND I love the newspapers.

Hi Sil, good to hear from you, thanks!

My mom is doing great, she has a cast on her left hand and one of those cast shoes on her right foot. She is able to get around and do some things for herself and the folks from church have been great, sending meals and coming to visit and help out.

Mom is one of those people if you don't know her and just met, you want to give her a hug. The person responsible was very concerned about her and kept calling. I think mom felt more sorry for the driver than for herself.

I have a photo I'm working from and I think that the face is going to be ok. I've put quite a few more hours into it. Be posting it soon
