"Overgrown" landscape, oil painting

I love old buildings and old sheds falling down and overgrown. Something about the color and textures in old painted and weathered wood. These guys are getting plowed down by the hundreds around here in the great cycle of life and commerce. Out with the old and in with the new. It's fun to find them and save them at least on canvas.
8x10, oil on panel, $150.00

Rob,
You did nice things with the light on this one...I especially like the colors of the sky and I'm wondering what time of day it was? It's fun to imagine the interesting things that may have been stored in this shed... Thank you for saving it for posterity!

I tried to comment on this the other day, but for some unknown reason bloggeer wouldn't allow it. Wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this image. It is one of those paintings that make you feel you have been there. Great atmosphere.

Hi Annie! Thank you! This was midday but the unique Northwest light in winter sometimes gives the sky a sureal look. Not cloudy, not sunny.

Hi Robin,
I love the play of lights and darks in this one... even the foreground is broken into lights and darks. There is something so appealing in old wood, old buildings, and places that once held life but are now abandoned. You have captured that "once upon a time" feeling perfectly!
