"The Primary School" New Hope Kasana, Uganda, Africa

The very light and atmosphere is tropical in Uganda. So different from the cool blues of the Pacific Northwest.....The dirt roads are all a rust red color and the light is warm and saturated by the equatorial sun....This little girl was fascinated by the new team from America and ran over to greet us , still a bit shy...
The completed painting is 16 x 20 , oil on stretched canvas, Sold

Absolutely gorgeous, I love this new line of work. You have captured the boys personality beautifully.

Thank you Blanca!

Thank you for stopping by again Amanda! I know you can relate to these paintings because of your time spent in Africa.

I almost immediately felt a heart to heart connection with these laughing ,singing and welcoming children. If I was walking down a dirt path and a few of the children that I didn't even know were walking along the same way , they would take turns holding my hand and telling me the names of things we came across. So sweet!

Thank you for bringing the shy smiles of the children of Kasana to the world through your artwork! You do a great job with the lighting even though it is different from what you are used to...I hope the pictures and memories of your time in Uganda continue to inspire you!

Outstanding work, Robin. Absolutely brillant color saturation, contrast and render of the child's shy expression.

I'm blown away and anxious to see the next.

Hi Robin,
Just me nosing around again. I just looked at the enlargement of your painting. You use palette knife quite a bit, huh?
Beautiful work.
