Second in the Alder series. I'm still fascinated by the colors and textures within the bark of these alder trees. The snow and the reflection of the light seems to bring an inner glow to living things waiting for spring to unlock the celebration of growth that comes with the change of seasons and the order of creation. I will continue the struggle of trying to capture this drama on canvas with one more painting in this series.

Wow, this painting is a rich sensory experience... I can feel the warmth of the sun where it is shining, and hear the crunch of the snow in the shady areas. My eyes are drawn to the touches of color...and wonderful textures. I am really enjoying this series!
Ditto what Ann said! Yes, it's just WONDERFUL.
Thank you Ann! The painting is accomplishing it's purpose and transporting you to a walk through the woods on a lovely day in winter......which I hope is refreshing for you in Uganda!!
