The Washington Coast near Shipwreck Point...oil marine landscape painting

I ran across a photo I took almost twenty years ago of a trip up the Washington Coast when I was fairly new to this area. I can still remember hopping out of the car at every turn in the road and taking pictures of everything....I was so amazed and excited by the beauty surrounding me in my new home state....I still love Washington state and now I have the privilege of spending time painting that beauty every day!

I had the pleasure of living in Wash state in the early eighties. Lovely place. I liked the plentiful green that the rains enabled. You have captured an unusual trick of the coast here. Well done.

Nice atmospherics, with the trees in the background faintly visible. Beautiful country even (or especially?) in the rain!

This is a great piece, Robin. I was in my first plein air event this last weekend, and I could kick myself for not studying your work more. You are "THE BOSS" for plein air landscape in my book.

Thank you Don! If you are an artist in the PNW you have to learn to paint water in all it's myriad forms.....and buy a lot of green paint! (actually I mix my own greens)..
