"Cows on Whidbey Island" oil landscape painting

I am going to post warm-up paintings that have been accumulating in the studio for the next several days. Between larger work I like to keep my hand in tune by doing smaller studies from life or from photos. This one is from a photo we took on Whidbey Island last summer.

hi robin-
i bought the first painting you did with jim lamb last summer with the towering lilacs.
i love this cows painting. i did a painting of a group of melancholy bovines a few years back and plan to get some good shots to work with here this spring. we aren't short on beautiful historic farmhouses or cows, sheep, or other barnyard friends around here. generally love cow paintings, but you've really got something here with these serene heifers.
best to you and thank you for posting. we really enjoy your work!
