"Point Lobos Cypress" California, coastal, plein air. oil painting by Robin Weiss

"Point Lobos Cypress"  8x6 oil on panel sold
The weather changed yet again and the fog rolled in by the time I finished my painting of Whalers Cove. I wanted to get one more so I stopped on the trail, set up and did this quick 8x6. I think it may be a candidate for a larger painting?

Yes!   You need to go here!   =]

This has to be one of my favorites from your trip. So well simplified...and I like the warm foreground against that cool gray sky/water.

Yes, been there, lived there and miss it all. I only hope that one day I can paint a gorgeous scene even more beautifully than it is, as you have done here and all the recent paintings you have had of Carmel and the surrounding awesome areas.

Darrell, Thanks man!! Simplification! That's the key isn't it? Sometimes easier to say than do! =]

Robin, any thoughts of making a video or writing a book?

Joani, I have thought hard about both and will be working hard to make both happen!

For now you can see a few short videos on my YouTube page and I will be updating it with more

Thanks for asking! =]
