Just before the pandemic struck us in 2020, an old artist friend, Juan Rodriquez , stopped by the studio for a little plein air painting. This old tractor sits like a sculpture outside the studio. It was a nice sunny afternoon casting strong shadows and saturating the rust red color. After the underpainting sketch I worked into the painting quickly to maintain a loose impressionistic feel. Looking forward to more fun days like this again soon!
