Above is the reworked version of this painting. I wasn't satisfied with some of the proportions in the original. Because it was one of only two of my paintings done at the Carmel Art Festival not to sell I decided to touch it up in the studio which turned into a pretty thorough rework. It's always risky to do! I'll let you decide whether I succeeded. The original version is below. I went back to Rocky Point with Maury for another day of painting the beauty of the California coast on the Monterey peninsula. There was a Haze in the morning that quickly burned off. I have painted this view before and this amazing piece of Gods creation never fails to inspire me!
This is one of the two paintings that didn't sell at the festival in Carmel and is available. I will probably use it for reference in a larger work.
