Home through the fields, landscape oil painting

I did this one on Sat. The bushes in the middle ground are called Spirea, they are beautiful in all seasons.

Robin, did you plein air this piece or was it an "in house" production? We have a yard full of cultivated spirea. Nice work.

Ron I did this in the studio. Thinking about changing my blog title to fair weather plein air, or wimpy plein air, somthing like that would be closer to the truth. I'm just to darn comfortable at Leighs.
My eye keeps going to the wild spirea out in the fields in the winter.

I love the colors and the movement in this. Do you know Van Gogh's paintings of the harvestings? This reminds me of those, just great movement and color, what a mood!

Hi Michele, Thanks, yes I know the paintings and love them alot.I guess all the Impresionist painters I have studied, have influenced me in some way,and Van Gogh is certainly one of them.

Hey Robin... nice! Great division of space - really effective device for drawing the eye in and around the frame. Color scheme.. brilliant.
