I have been super busy getting ready for "Arts in the Woods" plus my regular job and other responsibilities. Funny how work gets in the way of all the stuff you want to do. But..I have been thinking alot about painting, working out compositions in my head and doing pencil drawings of ideas. Also what I call dry painting. Thats when an artists paints in his head when you can't actually paint on canvas . You think of the colors and palette you would use, what you would mix and what mood you would set. Hope to be back painting soon.
"ARTS IN THE WOODS" Nov, 9th, 10th and 11th at the Knowles studio on Noll rd. Thats Fri., Sat. and Sun. from 10am till 5pm . Go to the Cultural Arts Foundation website and click on Arts in the Woods for maps and info http://www.cafnw.org/

Way to go, Man! This is where truly original work comes from. Keep it up! There is greatness in these sketches. good luck with your upcoming show.
Good sketches. I do these all the time. Scenes from imagination, memory or on site. Get the design, salient points and all you need to do is add color! Easy!
Thanks Mike! Thanks C.O.! I've seen examples of both of your pencil sketches. Drawing is the key.
Robin! I was wondering what was going on with you. These thumbnails are so strong! Really good designs. I don't seem to have that ability yet.
Silvi, I don't always do thumbnail sketches before a painting mainly because I hurry to much, but they are an incredible help. Just draw squares and fill em in with ideas the more you do the better they get.
Thanks for checkin in!
Congratulations !
Your sketeches are very good. I also like a lot your oil paintings. I wish I would have made them.
My eyes say "thank you".
