"Mikes Auto Repair" urban oil painting and Model study

This business is located under the 11th street overpass in Bremerton. I went by there again this week and they had spray painted the whole building... doors ,trim ,windows,... everything.... a kind of baby poo yellow ..So glad I got this painting before they did that. 18x24 oil on stretched canvas $450.00
Well I found a figure drawing class on Bainbridge Island. It will be good to get back to painting the figure...thats the best practice... I'll try to post what I do there. My first two paintings went to my friend Todd and I forgot to get pictures.

Hi Robin, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I was just looking over the last time I commented on this blog and noticed that I called you Mike again. aaack! I'm sooo sorry! I'm even sorrier that I missed the fun ribbing from Mike and you. May I explain why I confuse you with Mike? You two were the first to welcome me to the art blog world. I see you two together as a set. A pair of kind artists that welcome other artists that are new and kind of lost in cyber space. : )

Anyway... your work looks really terrific. I can't do this kind of outdoor scene yet. YET.

Rob,
I've probably passed by "Mike's Auto Repair" many times... It's amazing to me that, through an artist's eye, a rather nondescript building becomes a fascinating subject with color, light and texture. Thank you for opening my eyes to the beauty around me.

OK Silvina, thats good news! I'll get ya reprogramed.

Hi Ann! Thanks for stopping by and your kind comment. I believe beauty and our ability to convey it with our creative gifts speaks of the heart of God.

Wonderful misty, overcast atmosphere.
Love the handling of the wet asphalt in the foreground.

Maybe Gamblin will patent a color called 'Baby Poo Hue' ;-)
