There is a trail at the end of Sawdust Hill Rd that meanders down to a beaver pond . I used to take long walks down there with my son Maury when he was little. Now there are houses and people I don't know.....and people who don't know me!...in fact I got kicked off this property when I was taking pictures...=/...I gave the person my card and told them what I was doing....They didn't seem impressed at all.....
You will probably see more of these studies...I'm working on another one...

Beautiful! I love the way you've used the heavy paint texture to capture the crispy feeling of winter (and the tree bark) but the softness of snow. Nice work.
lovely - one of your best. I love painting trees like this against the snow.
Thank you Trish!..I enjoyed browsing your blog!
Thanks for visiting Vivian...I visited your blog..seems like you do it all...nice work!
Amazing!...I especially like the touch of color in the leaves...very arresting. I'm impressed with what you can do even with interruptions and distractions, like phone calls from far away...=]....
Sorry the neighbors did not appreciate the artist-at-work...if only they could see the finished painting!
Thank you Annie!
Yes, you are rather distracting...in a good way!! I'll set the brush down to talk with you any time!!..
Beautiful Robin-
This will be a great little series.
You know snow does simplify the world it covers. It's as if the trees and scrubs are interrupting it. Very cool.

Thanks Vikki!...we all need a little simplifying at times..the snow sure made my life simple.......sit by the fire and paint!
Bark-elicious! (: Nice textures, Robin. ...You can wear your camouflage next time you go over there.
