"Forest Floor" Original floral painting by Robin Weiss

"Forest Floor" 20x20 oil on canvas  SOLD

Trilliums in the woods are the herald that spring has officially sprung. They haven't come up yet but I keep walking back in the woods to look for them. Every year they come back to the same place along the path behind our house which I call the Trillium Trail. I love these wild flowers and have painted them many times out in the woods and in the studio. this was done from last years photo reference.  Stop by the J Go Gallery in Winslow  to see this painting and many more recent spring flower paintings the whole month of May. There will be an opening during First Friday Artwalk. Hope to see you there! =]

"Rose Bush Butterfly" Original flower painting by Robin Weiss

"Rose Bush Butterfly"  18x24 oi on board  SOLD

This is an older studio painting done a few years back, made it's rounds through the galleries and came back to me. It sat around the studio for awhile and then I had an offer to join a group exhibition at the J Go Gallery in Winslow on Bainbridge Island. This show was to be about spring flowers that start to flourish when the temps warm and the buds come forth. It's March now and already I can see new growth on the rose bushes in our yard. I pulled it out, took another look and decided to work it over again for the new show. Think I improved it some.

If you are in the area the Spring Flower Group Exhibition will have an opening in May during the First Friday Artwalk in Winslow. Stop by and see this painting along with other more recent flower paintings from me and other local gallery artists at the J Go Gallery.

This is the view of the Brothers in the Olympic Mountain range that we see on the higher hills driving in Poulsbo, WA. This year as in most of the western states we have seen higher than usual snow fall in the mountains making for some spectacular vistas.

I am very excited to learn that "Snow Shadows" has been juried into the American Impressionist Society's Small Works Showcase on exhibition at the District Gallery in Knoxville Tennessee! This show will be on display from April 4th to May 20th and will begin with an opening week of events including painting demonstrations, plein air painting and panel discussions concluding with the opening reception and awards presentation.

Sadly Ann and I will not be able to attend this year but if you are in Knoxville don't miss this stunning exhibition from some of the best impressionist painters in the country.

In other exciting news I have shipped "Sunlight on Apples" to the Reinert Fine Art Gallery  in Charleston SC which will be hosting the Oil Painters of America 32nd National Exhibition. So excited for my artwork to hang alongside so many amazing and inspiring artists!  This painting will be available for sale through the website HERE and at the show. Hope you can make it!  =]

"Skid Row" Plein air landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"Skid Row"  8x16 oil on panel, plein air   SOLD

The opening of the Scott Milo Gallery group exhibition was a big success even for a cold and blustery march afternoon.  There was a big turnout for artwalk in Anacortes in spite of the weather and many paintings sold. Among them was "Skid Row" a plein air painting I did back in 2021 on a painting excursion with my plein air pal, Mark Bistranin. There is an old boat graveyard on reservation land near LaConner that I think is a painters paradise!

It was a very hot day and the first thing I did was look for shade, then painted what was in front of me. Can't wait to get back this summer!!
