I have posted before about how easy it is to drive around looking for a good spot to paint during these competitions and not getting down to business. I found myself doing the same thing during the first annual Heartland Plein Air Festival in Omaha Nebraska. Time was slipping by for a late day sunset painting, when I realized what I was doing I slapped my forehead, pulled into the nearest parking lot and painted this scene in front of me. It sold at the gala opening.
