"Two Boats" from the Poulsbo Marina, oil marine scape

The Poulsbo marina is always a good source of scenes to paint. I left this one a little looser, trying to keep a painterly, impressionistic feel to it.

Beautiful reflections! I love the composition - you can see more of the mast in the reflection than you show above the hull - kind of an illusion to see what you can't see. It must have been a very still day. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! The reflections are what caught my eye in this scene...and was the challenge to paint!

Very nice. I like that old gal on the left! I'll bet those reflections were hard. they are never quite the same as the real thing, and that's the trick. So... they must have decided to just give you the key to the place, right?

Beautiful image! Really draws the eye! I also like your choice to show more of the reflections than the real thing. Lovely...

Ha! What kind of artist would I be if I let little things like locked gates and barbed wire keep me from getting the painting!

Thanks Don!

The reflections are fantastic. What i love about your work is your style of executing your subjects in bold strokes that appear to have a crosshatch like movement. Spelndid masterpiece.
