"Southwest Morrison Street" Portland city oil painting by Robin Weiss
"Southwest Morrison Street" 9x12 oil on panel by Robin Weiss Sold
This old building was lit aglow by the afternoon sun....Had to paint it!
Lovely! The detail in the old buildings are so wonderful! It makes them so much more beautiful to paint. The way you captured the glow on the brick is just lovely. I also like the little pops of red here nd there along with the puddles in the street in the shadow. We had quite a snowstorm here last night. accidents everywhere! People in NM just are not accustomed to icy roads. I had to park my Jag several miles from home and have Vic come get me in his 4-wheel drive. Hope all is well.
I'm trying not to use overused words like "great" and "awesome," but this painting is both of those things. I study the way you simplify shapes and compose with values. You make it look easy and but it's not easy at all!
