" Behind the Hansville Store" oil painting, urban landscape

Another painting from the Hansville area. There is alot of cool stuff behind the Hansville store. About a mile down the beach from here is the Point no Point lighthouse. 14x18 oil on stretched canvas, $300.00

Really nicely done. You captured a moment in the day with light & color.

Good job

Nice, Robin! Especially like the camper.
Did you move or did your profile always say Washington? I thought you were in Oregon.

Hey Rob! I am starting to look at paintings differently now . . .that is since last April when I began with oils . . .probably because of my concerns about developing my own work. Great job on this lil guy . . .shadows, shapes, perspective . . .niiiice work, Bud! (Frankly this sort of subject scares me!) Dunno if I would tackle it. Tuff to do!

Beautiful attention to detail Rob...you have a remarkable gift! To my untrained eye, it seems this work is less impressionistic than for example, other paintings you have done of the lighthouse? I am impressed with your range and the moods that can be conveyed with certain light.

Gerald, Thanks! You know how it is...you see that light and shadow and the light reflected in the shadow....and you have to try and capture it.

Hey Silvi, thanks! I tried to make the camper the focal point.

I left Cleveland when I was 17 and joined the navy. I drove my 66 dodge pickup to Washington state after I got out and have been here ever since.

Mike you rock! Your recent paintings are knock outs!! I think you can tackle anything you set your mind to!

Hi Ann! Thanks for commenting. Your a huge encouragement to me!

I tend towards a tighter style of painting so I'm always pushing myself to stay loose. It's hard when you have a lot of detail and perspective to deal with.

Really, it's all about the light.

See ya Sunday =)
