White Lilys in Watercolor

This time I worked out the composition in watercolor. I think it is more balanced with the blossom at the base of the blue vase. I've got this still life set up on my back porch. As long as the lily's last, and they seem to last a long time, I will keep trying to paint them.

Wow! There it is! See my last comment.

I haven't been around the blog sphere recently due to a bunch of distractions here. That doesn't mean I am not thinkin about you and your art. Last few posts are rilly cool!

I think you're right about the composition. I like this one better than the single lily. And because the blue in the background is more vivid in this one, the orange touches really pop. Nice.

BTW, my blog is working.

I saw some lilys today at the store and I almost bought them to give them a try. I agree the painting is an improvement over the previous painting.

Elio, I have these lilys I bought at the farmers market. I didn't know what i was getting at the time. they grew six feet tall ,no kidding, with a cluster of about ten blossoms at the top. Incredible! I can't stop looking at these flowers plus there is this perfume that fills the yard.

Stay tuned I'm still working on getting a painting I like.
